DRAFT – to be reviewed by a lawyer before launch
Terms for centres
Terms for early learning centres that use Ready Teddy to find and book relievers.
The platform
Ready Teddy lets your centre request relief teachers and record the shift. We are not the employer. Your centre employs and pays the reliever through your own payroll. Ready Teddy never pays wages.
These terms are a draft. A lawyer still needs to review them before launch. They are not a finished contract.
Your account
The person who sets up the centre creates a Clerk organisation for that centre. You must give a real centre name, street address and phone number. You are responsible for who you add to that organisation.
You must not store children’s personal information in Ready Teddy.
Requests and bookings
A request is an offer for a room and time. The reliever can accept or decline before the respond-by time. The first accepted request for that reliever’s overlapping time becomes the booking.
If you cancel less than two hours before the shift starts, the reliever is owed a three-hour minimum. That amount appears on the payroll export. You still pay the reliever; Ready Teddy does not.
Casual agreement
The first booking between your centre and a reliever asks both sides to accept a casual employment agreement in the app. That text is also a draft until an employment lawyer reviews it. Your centre is the employer for each engagement.
Fees
Ready Teddy charges the centre a platform fee when a timesheet is approved, based on the booked shift length, or a standby fee when a standby window was not called in. No fill, no fee. GST is only added once Ready Teddy is GST registered. Amounts can change; the live figures are on Pricing and Billing.
You add a card or NZ direct debit through Stripe. If a charge fails, your centre is marked past due and cannot send new requests until it is sorted.
Safety and ending the arrangement
If you report a safety concern, we pause that reliever so they leave the board. An admin reviews the report. We may cancel their other upcoming bookings. That is a safety pause, not a late cancel.
We can suspend a centre that misuses the service, fails to pay fees, or puts people at risk. You can stop using Ready Teddy at any time. Fees already incurred still need to be paid.
