DRAFT – to be reviewed by a lawyer before launch
Terms for relievers
Terms for relief teachers who use Ready Teddy to get requests and bookings.
The platform
Ready Teddy lets you say when you are free, receive requests from centres, and keep a record of shifts. We are not your employer. The centre employs and pays you for each engagement through its own payroll. Ready Teddy never pays wages.
These terms are a draft. A lawyer still needs to review them before launch. They are not a finished contract.
Your account and documents
You need a real name, mobile, suburb and the documents we ask for (photo ID, Police vet, first aid, and a Teaching Council certificate if you are qualified). An admin checks those documents before you appear on a board.
Your home location is used only to work out travel minutes. Centres never see your home address or coordinates — only your suburb and travel time.
Requests, bookings and pay
A centre request is an offer. You can hold more than one at once. If you accept one, overlapping pending requests are cancelled. If you decline or the respond-by time passes, the centre is shown other matches.
The hourly rate on the request is what the centre has offered (at or above your minimum). The centre pays you. Each week the centre can download a payroll export of approved hours, rates, standby fees and cancellation minimums.
Reliability and cancellations
If you cancel a confirmed booking for a reason other than sickness, your reliability score may drop. A no-show drops it further. An approved timesheet can recover a little, up to 100.
If the centre cancels less than two hours before the start, you are owed a three-hour minimum on that timesheet.
Casual agreement and safety
The first booking with a centre asks you both to accept a casual employment agreement in the app. That text is a draft until an employment lawyer reviews it. The centre is the employer for that engagement.
Do not record children’s personal information in Ready Teddy. Follow the centre card and the centre’s health and safety instructions on site.
You can close your account by asking us. We may pause or suspend an account if a safety report is opened or if the service is misused.
